Freedom

Program 1: The Mystery of Meditation

Meditation is not something we do but something that is available to us.  In this class we will approach the question of ‘What is meditation?’ from biological, psychological, and spiritual perspectives.   We will look at body structure and function and their relation to meditation and other states of awareness.  Through becoming aware of our patterns that interfere with optimal functioning, we will learn to relax more deeply into the natural flow of meditation that is always happening.

Program 2: The Play of Freedom

Freedom is freedom from identity—the self, the ego, the I.  There is no self, no meditator, no objective nor subjective world. There is no observer, no observing, and no observed.  There is “no one” and “no-thing.”  Freedom is also the ability to surf our identity and the infinity of creation with natural ease.  Between freedom and the infinity of creation is the play of consciousness which is endless and can reveal unspeakable beauty.  Through “meditation,” discussion, and spending time in nature and our surroundings, we will explore the beauty of the play of consciousness as it reveals the mystery of the phenomenal world.

Program 3: Freedom from the Known

The experience of freedom is unspeakable. The experience of the creation is infinite. Through meditation, silence, discussion, and inquiry we will surf the razor’s edge of living the known and living the unknown.
